October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. It can feel like a taboo subject, but it doesn’t need to anymore. About fifteen percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and this number may be even higher. This also doesn’t take into account the warrior mothers who have lost an infant. This means if it isn’t you, it’s probably your sister. Or your best friend. This is a part of so many motherhood journeys. Let’s speak about them freely. Let’s miss them together. Let’s grieve for them and celebrate the weeks we got to love them in the same breath. Let’s name them. But let’s not be ashamed to remember out loud.
